2025-2026
Dr. B. P. Agrawal Shiksha Niketan successfully organised a CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Life Skills on 17th January 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the objective of empowering teachers to nurture essential life skills among students and promote holistic education.
Guided by the World Health Organization’s definition of life skills as the abilities required for adaptive and positive behaviour, the programme focused on integrating life skills into the teaching–learning process to support the overall physical, mental, emotional, and social development of learners.
The workshop was conducted by the CBSE Resource Persons Mrs. Varsha Singh, Vice Principal of Aristotle World School, Etawah, and Ms. Smita Singh, PGT Commerce of The Cambridge School, Hardoi. Their insightful guidance, practical examples, and engaging approach made the session highly effective and enriching for the teaching fraternity.
The programme commenced with an in-depth discussion on the three core domains of life skills —Thinking Skills , Social Skills , and Emotional Skills —and their relevance in today’s educational landscape. Teachers actively participated in a series of thoughtfully designed group activities. These included the formation and interpretation of group logos, which encouraged creativity and teamwork, and a session on techniques to enhance life skills in students, where participants critically analysed the merits and demerits of various strategies.
Following the lunch break, the mid-afternoon session featured an engaging story reading and Question-and-Answer activity, highlighting the role of storytelling in fostering emotional intelligence and comprehension. This was complemented by a role-play activity, during which teachers creatively enacted stories, effectively demonstrating empathy, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Throughout the programme, emphasis was laid on humanistic education, adaptability, and the importance of cultivating a growth mindset among both educators and learners. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged reflection, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices, leaving participants better equipped to create supportive and life-skills-oriented classroom environments.
The programme concluded on a note of appreciation and gratitude, with the Respected Chairman Sir and Respected Director Sir honouring the resource persons with mementoes as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution.
This Capacity Building Programme reaffirmed Dr. B. P. Agrawal Shiksha Niketan’s commitment to providing education that goes beyond academics, fostering emotionally balanced, confident, empathetic, and socially responsible individuals prepared to meet the challenges of life.
